5 Easy Steps
1. Start your membership at any of our branch locations.
2. Stop using your old checking account.
You will need to allow your outstanding checks or automatic withdrawals to clear before closing the account. This might take a few weeks or more.
3. Switch on your direct deposit.
Send the direct deposit form to your employer, the Social Security Administration, or your Retirement Plan Administrator.
4. Switch on any electronic payments.
Our convenient checklist will help you make sure you don’t miss anything! To change your automatic deductions, use the Electronic Payment Form.
5. Switch off your old account.
Ask your previous financial institution to close your account and mail you remaining balance to Desert Energy Credit Union.
